The Best Digital Camera Binoculars
If you enjoy bird watching, whale watching or any other type of activity in which you require binoculars but also would like to take pictures, a pair of digital camera binoculars can often be a cheaper and more portable option than a big telephoto lens camera. When looking for digital camera binoculars, consider such factors as your budget, the magnification of the binoculars and how many megapixels the camera portion has.

Bushnell Compact 8x30 Instant Replay 11-8325

This digital camera binoculars has a 5 megapixel resolution which is better than most digital camera binoculars. The camera also has a 6x digital zoom and the ability to records 30 frames per second video. It also has an instant replay function which allows you to watch and save the video clips that you like and discard the ones you don't like. The binoculars have a magnification of 8 with a 30mm wide objective lens. The only real downside for this model is that the minimum camera focus is 30 feet away. This can be tricky when the binoculars focus is just 13 feet away.

Bushnell 10x25 Image View VGA 11-1026

This Bushnell digital camera binoculars is a good option if you are on a budget. The camera is very basic. It features a 640x480 VGA resolution, which is the equivalent of 0.3 megapixels. It has a 1.25-inch LCD screen for viewing camera images to see how they turned out. The binoculars have a magnification of 10 with a 25mm wide objective lens. It comes with 8MB of memory and also includes an SD slot for expanded memory. In addition, if camera shake is a problem, it comes with a socket to attach a tripod. Although the lens resolution is extremely low, the SD card slot and the tripod socket give it an edge over similar budget digital camera binoculars.

Celestron Vistapix 8x32

If you're looking for a good in-between option, consider this Celestron. It comes with a 3 megapixel digital camera and includes a 4x digital zoom. In addition to the 16MB of built in memory it also has an SD card slot to expand the memory. The 1.5-inch flips up to replay video footage or look at photos. The binoculars have a magnification of 8 with a 32mm objective lens for nice, bright images.
