Stren Original
Stren was created by DuPont in 1958 and has been the market leader ever since. It was the first ultra thin monofilament fishing line created and revolutionized fishing as we know it. Stren produces many types of line that suit different fishing situations, but the original Stren monofilament is still the most popular line on the market. It offers a compromise of strength and sensibility. Some of Stren's other popular types are smooth cast, extra tough and braided.
Berkley Trilene
Berkley Trilene comes in a few different types of which all are equally popular. Trilene Smooth Cast XL is a top rated line due to its low memory, making it a favorite for casting. It is a relatively small diameter line that offers more sensitivity then average monofilament. Trilene XT is Berkley's standard line that offers extra durability for the tough fishing conditions that require a more abrasive resistant line
Ande Monofilament
Ande is a manufacturer of competition fishing line that has caught more than 1,300 IGFA record fish. It offers only premium and tournament monofilament, but you can choose from 2 to 400 lb. test. Ande is a favorite among saltwater fishermen due to the line's strength and durability. Ande's line is a smaller diameter line than most of its competitors, but is often much stronger.
