Hotels in Portland, Oregon

Hotels in Portland, Oregon
Portland, Oregon, offers all the modern amenities of a city without the urban sprawl, pollution and clutter of most big cities. The city itself offers excellent bicycle trails, sightseeing and accommodations, and the surrounding area offers sailing, rowing, hiking and camping, as well as winter sports at nearby Mount Hood.

The Kennedy School

This historical school in Portland's northeast area opened in 1915. It has been lovingly restored by McMenamins, a local brewpub operation, and now offers comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price, as well as lots of fun on-site amenities. Enjoy a whiskey and a cigar in the former detention room or a movie and a piece of pizza in the former gymnasium. The hotel offers a restaurant, several bars, a heated pool and individually furnished rooms. Since the hotel was once a school, some of the rooms offer shared bathrooms rather than individual en suite facilities, so check when you book your room.
