Hotels in the Lake District

Hotels in the Lake District
The Lake District, located in the northwest corner of England, near the Scotland border, offers criss-crossing hikes of varying challenges, as well as sweeping views, water activities on the lakes and excellent biking trails. Features of day hikes can include a trip to Hadrian's wall, a hike around a lake or ascending a small mountain. The wild country of the Lake District is a tourist attraction for locals and international visitors, so there are lots of hotels to choose from.

Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel

What better way to experience the Lake District than by staying at a traditional Country House Hotel? Holbeck Ghyll offers a wide array of accommodations, including detached housing in the Gatehouse and the Lodge, that are available as hotel housing or self-catering facilities. This makes it an excellent choice for self-sufficient hiking groups. Every room in the hotel offers excellent views of the countryside, including nearby Lake Windermere. The lake and the local rolling hills offer excellent hiking opportunities. The Holbeck Ghyll Restaurant is the only Michelin star rated restaurant in the Windermere area. At the end of a hard day's exploring, guests can enjoy the Holbeck Ghyll Health Spa, including holistic treatments, massage and a sauna.
