Tidepools at the Grand Hyatt
Tidepools has, arguably, the absolute most romantic dining on the Island. Imagine dining in a secluded hut on water, with no walls around you, just the ocean. Outdoor dining at Tidepools has won Honolulu Magazine's Hale Aina Award for Best Kauai Restaurant at least five times. It has also been voted the Best Restaurant on Kauai by a 2009 Zagat Survey. The menu is gourmet Hawaiian surf and turf, though the restaurant specializes in surf.

Funky Caffe Coco
This unusual little restaurant also is an espresso bar and art gallery. The dining room has a backyard barbecue feel to it because it's in the backyard of a plantation-era cottage. The place has been called "bohemian," "romantic," "artsy" and "funky" by Travelocity reviewers, but they generally agree that the food is delicious and the cozy environment, surrounded by sculpture and wall art in the open air, is remarkable. The restaurant has live music every night and serves organic vegetarian dishes, as well as gourmet fresh fish entrees.

Pomodoro Ristorante Italiano
Pomodoro offers an Italian menu and cozy dining. What could be more romantic than a nice bottle of Chianti and New York-style Italian food? This restaurant is enclosed, which makes it nice in the rain or when the weather is too hot. One dish reviewer's recommendation is the Chicken Saltimbocca which, in Italian, means "jump in your mouth."
