List of Hotels in Honolulu

List of Hotels in Honolulu
Honolulu has hotels to accommodate many types of travelers as well as many types of budgets. Waikiki is the resort capital of Hawaii and mainly caters to those looking for the full-on kitschy kind of vacation that makes the islands such a prime tourist destination. If you are looking for something a bit more adventurous or that suits your taste for a laid-back vacation, you can find excellence in accommodations in Honolulu.

Backpackers Vacation Inn

Backpackers and hikers delight in this chance to escape from the hotels and resorts that take the Hawaiian tourist idea to its illogical extreme. Get back to nature as this supremely casual Honolulu site that will remind you more of hostels if you've ever hiked through Europe. Accommodations range from private rooms that bunk two people, to slightly more extravagant cabins that can bed up to eight. Don't look for luxury or the amenities found in Honolulu's better hotels, but some rooms have kitchenettes and some have full-sized kitchens. Best news of all may be that you can take a brisk walk to grocery store to stock up in just a few minutes.

Ala Moana Hotel

Not nearly as far away geographically as it is in terms of luxury from the Backpacker's Inn is the Ala Moana Hotel. This is a great choice for those who have money and like to spend it on water sports. Surfing, diving, snorkeling and swimming wait just across the street as the Ala Moana Beach Park. After a long day at the beach soaking up the sun, maybe spotting some dolphins or whales, and exploring the coral reefs beneath the surface, head back to the hotel to take a dive in the large pool, stretch your muscles with some outdoor yoga lessons, or hit the recumbent bikes inside the fitness center.
