Aside from the fairy-tale romance of Disney's Magic Kingdom, couples in Orlando have plenty of romantic things to do. Orlando offers a lot of recreational diversions that can bring a couple closer together. Perhaps only in Orlando can couples experience luxury camping, with hiking, kayaking and a maid to clean up the mess.

Rent a Swan Boat

Lake Eola is an urban park in the middle of Orlando, with a wandering sidewalk trail that's precisely nine-tenths of a mile long, which is a fine length for a romantic hand-held stroll. A farmers market is held here weekly, and a paddle-boat rental on the lake specializes in swan-shaped boats. What could be more romantic than hiding out between the wings of a giant swan? There are also live swans, ducks to feed and a sit-down cafe and grill at the park. Several old-growth oak trees, shaded seating areas and secluded benches make Lake Eola Park a romantic place in Orlando.

Romantic Dining

Intimate, romantic and elegant, the Venetian Room at the Caribe Royale Orlando has been given the AAA Four Diamond Award, and voted as the most romantic restaurant in Orlando, by the Orlando Sentinel, AOL City and other fine dining and best restaurant distinctions by Orlando publications. The menu is gourmet Italian, with seafood and steaks in rich sauces. One of its specialties is the lobster bisque soup.

If the Venetian room is a bit too pricey for your taste, try The Melting Pot. It serves four-course fondue meals, where diners dip bite-sized vegetables, breads and fruits into a variety of cheese sauces, chocolates and other sauces. It also serves mixed drinks and fine wines.

Luxury Camping

Camping can be hard work, but Disney's pioneer resort offers guests secluded luxury cabin camping, with maid service and other amenities, just like a hotel. At night, roast marshmallows by the campfire and join in a "goofy" campfire sing-along with other campers. Dine on a down-home buffet at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, a nightly foot-stomping musical or choose Mickey's Backyard BBQ Dinner Show. The resort also features swimming pools, jogging and hiking trails, kayaking and romantic horse-drawn carriage rides. It has rates for visitors who choose to bring their own camper or tent but still want to enjoy the amenities.
