The Best Tent Air Conditioners

The Best Tent Air Conditioners
If you're a camper who doesn't necessarily like "roughing it", then you might prefer using a tent air conditioner. These units are especially helpful for those with certain medical conditions or those who are pregnant and can't stand the extreme heat. The best tent air conditioners range from standard air conditioners to larger fans.

Coleman 2SPD Stand Tent Fan

The Coleman 2SPD Stand Tent Fan is perfect for camping, even if you're camping in an area without electricity because it runs on four "D" batteries. The fan has two speeds and folds flat when not in use, which makes it easy to store, pack and carry to the campsite. The fan can run for up to 21 hours on one set of batteries.

Daewoo WM-501

If you want something with more power and you have access to electricity or a generator, try the Daewoo WM-501. This full-size air conditioner was meant for the home, but some campers have used it outdoors with great success because of the small amount of amps it uses. You can place the air conditioner on a table or use it at the bottom of your tent and just seal up the area around it to prevent bugs from getting inside.

Kooleraire 12 Volt Portable Air Conditioner

The 12 Volt Portable Air Conditioner from Kooleraire fits directly into any 25- or 28-quart cooler. You add ice to your cooler, place the air conditioner on top, plug it in, close the cooler and it's ready to start working. You can remove the air conditioning unit at any time to use your cooler and you can leave it running inside the tent to keep yourself cool all night long.

Coleman Cool Zephyr

The Coleman Cool Zephyr is a ceiling fan with an additional light that hooks into the top of any tent with the attached clip. The fan runs on four "D" batteries and provides fan or light for nearly a day. There are two controls on the fan that allow you to turn the light and fan on or off without disrupting the other. The biggest advantage to using this product is that it keeps the humidity away from your tent's interior and prevents the buildup of condensation.
