Rapala
Rapalas are a favorite among walleye anglers as they will catch walleye as well as other species of fish. Best colors for walleye are silver, brown and fire tiger. They come in many styles that are used to swim at different levels. Shallow and deep-diving models are the most popular.
Hot N Tots
Hot N Tots consistently catch walleye from suspended depths of 15 to 25 feet. Use bright colors such as silver and fire tiger for best results.
Thunderstick
Thundersticks are crankbaits used to target suspended walleye schools that are in deeper water. They often are used with a downrigger to reach depths of 30 feet and below. Bright colors such as silver, gold and fire tiger work best as well as natural colors such as light brown and green.
Crawler Harness
Crawler harnesses are used to troll or drift night crawlers on the bottom. They are produced by several companies and are often even made by local bait shops. Any harness with a combination of bright bead and spinners will work well. You can also buy the supplies to make them yourself if you want to try color combinations that you can't find elsewhere.
Lead Head Jig
Jigs that are 1/8 to 1/4 oz. used with live bait are a top-producing walleye lure. Colors should be bright such as chartreuse, orange, lime green or white. They can be found in any sporting goods store or bait shops and are inexpensive.
