Accra, Ghana, is famous for its sun-baked beaches. However, a number of hiking and trekking options also exist around the city, including a hike to the Agumatsa Wildlife Sanctuary's impressive Wli Falls near the Togo border--the highest falls in West Africa. But you need a base--and that means a hotel in Accra. A number of viable hotel options exist in Accra, from the luxurious to the budget.

A 4 star establishment, the luxurious Golden Tulip offers 234 guestrooms complete with coffeemaker, a mini bar, a telephone, free high-speed Internet and plenty of space. The hotel is also home to the Ahengua restaurant, which features both menu and buffet dining and both local and continental cuisine. The Golden Tulip's location is convenient to the international airport (a five-minute drive), a shopping mall (walking distance) and the Accra city center.
