The Flying Pig
The Flying Pig, with its laid-back party atmosphere, is by far the most popular youth hostel in Amsterdam. The hostel has a "one price covers all" philosophy meaning that everything in the hostel is included in the nightly rate: buffet breakfast, linens, lockers, city tours, maps, Wi-Fi, Skype and a complete kitchen. The Flying Pig bar proudly serves the cheapest beer and is a great place to meet fellow travelers from all over the world. The flying pig has two hostels located in downtown Amsterdam and since the hostels tend to fill fast it is a good idea to book your room in advance.

Aivengo Youth Hostel
The Aivengo Youth Hostel is a small and basic hostel located within walking distance of the train station and many Amsterdam attractions. The main accommodations are dorms that sleep up to 20 travelers. Female only dorms are also available. The hostel provides linens, lockers, Internet, and a fridge and microwave. The hostel lacks a common area so it is not a great place to meet up with other travelers.
