British Airways
Britain's own official airline offers regional and international flights from all over the United Kingdom. SkyTrax, the only international airline rating system, consistently rates British Airways four out of five stars, indicating its commitment to customer service and passenger comfort. British Airways was also the first airline in the world to commit to a carbon offset program, and also the first to have this step recognized by the government. British Airways offers more than 20 destinations inside the United Kingdom, including Belfast, Edinburgh, and Newcastle, and these flights all include British Airways' signature service, including in-flight entertainment, snacks and meals.
Ryanair
Ryanair, one of Ireland's two airlines, has become known for offering incredible discounts for flights all over the United Kingdom and Europe. While the airline is based out of Ireland, it does fly into all major U.K. hubs, including London, Glasgow and Manchester. Ryanair offers package deals with local hotels, including locations that are owned and operated by Ryanair, which are often deeply discounted. The offset in the price is Ryanair's service. For short flights and value, it cannot be beaten, but the overall effect is sometimes like a bus in the air.
Loganair
Loganair is Scotland's only airline, and it offers small turboprop flights in smaller planes all over the U.K. Loganair specializes in day trips to Scotland's golfing hot spots. Conveniently many of these locations are also excellent destinations for day trippers looking to take in Scotland's countryside, including the island of Islay. As of 2009, Loganair charged at 10 pound fee for bicycles.
