The Best Amsterdam Hotels

Aidas Zubkonis

Amsterdam offers a whole host of outdoor activities, including biking, hiking and even surfing. It also offers a range of hotels, from the ultra-luxurious to the barest budget hostel. For some, all that outdoor exertion is rewarded with a few days of relaxation in Amsterdam's top five-star hotel: the Intercontinental Amstel. Or perhaps you're most excited about a place that offers a lot for a little, like the city's best budget hotel---the Flying Pig Downtown. Or it could be something in between, like the Hotel Annemarie.

The Best Five-Star Hotel

As a rule, guests are expected to abide by a dress code, usually formal or semi-formal wear. As of July 2009, prices for a regular room at the Intercontinental Amstel Hotel begin around $180 (U.S.) for a regular room, then climb to as high as $5,300 for one night in the hotel's Royal Suite.
