Golf at Greenhorn Creek Resort
Avid golfers enjoy this award winning golf course that is just outside Angels Camp. It features a regulation 18-hole course where the average round of golf lasts a little over four hours. The Greens Keeper site voted it the best maintained course in 2007. You have the option of staying in one of the onsite cottages or merely visiting for a round of golf or two. During the off-season, greens fees start at $50, while during the height of tourist season they begin at $70. Outdoor enthusiasts might want to decline the golf cart and instead walk the course, soak in the view and the sun's rays, and also enjoy the smell of freshly cut grass and the clean Sierra Nevada air.

Bring Your Children and Dogs to Utica Park
Utica Park is situated to the north of downtown Angels Camp. It is a dog-friendly park and features plenty of playground equipment for children. It capitalizes on the connection of Angels Camp to Mark Twain, and you may enjoy a visit to the statute of the famous writer and also the whimsical frog sculptures that actually double as trash cans. This park is an excellent choice for playing Frisbee with your dog, having a picnic at one of the many tables or the pavilion, teaching kids about various trees they might encounter in a park and also simply for taking a walk.

Rent a Mountain Bike at the Mountain Pedaler Bicycle Shop
Calaveras Big Trees State Park is near Angels Camp, and during the height of tourist season---from June through September---you may rent a mountain bike and safety gear from the Mountain Pedaler Bicycle Shop in Angels Camp. The nearby state park features challenging hills and valleys, but also more mellow dirt roads---they are actually designed as fire roads---for the beginner or younger children. Do not forget to ask the shop owner to give you a map of the area, as some private lands abut state park property and you want to avoid trespassing by knowing where the property lines are drawn.
