Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin, Texas is a little-known place, except among enthusiasts of bizarre roadside attractions and bats. The underside of the bridge is the home of a colony of an estimated 1.5 million bats, making it the largest such colony in urban North America. This creates a nightly spectacle every night from the middle of March to the middle of November as the creatures take flight.
