Surfside Beach Activities

Surfside Beach Activities
Surfside Beach is a thriving getaway spot in South Carolina near Myrtle Beach with a beachfront dotted with beach houses, hotels, condominiums and a fishing pier. The community also has a water park as well as many restaurants and other business establishments. A part of the South Strand communities, Surfside Beach is often called "The Family Beach" because of the many activities it has for people of all ages.

Legends in Concert

One of the most popular places in Surfside Beach is Legends in Concert, a venue that opened in 1995 and still provides live music in town.

Legends in Concert features tribute performances to music legends such as Elvis Presley, Elton John, Donna Summer, the Blue Brothers and more. You can also catch special events such as the Fabulous Fifties Festival, which the venue hosts every July.

Legends in Concert provides music acts with performers who are faithful to the artists to whom they pay tribute--from the voice, hair and mannerisms to the outfits of the legends.

Wild Water and Wheels

Wild Water and Wheels is a water park for both children and adults with many attractions guests of all ages can enjoy. The park's most popular attraction is the Free Fall Cliff Dive, a body-only speed slide that lets the slider plunge at 45 mph through a tunnel that leads to an almost vertical drop.

Apart from the thrill-inducing slide attractions, other highlights include the Lazy River--a river set up to cut through a rain forest with a wave channel and cascading waterfalls. There is also the Wipe Out Wave Pool, which launches eight different waves while music plays as you hang out in the water.

Wild Water and Wheels observes safety measures such as checking the height of patrons before allowing them to use the slide attractions.

Surfside Pier and Pier Outfitters

A survivor of many storms and high tides, Surfside Pier and Pier Outfitters still exist as a fishing environment on Surfside Beach. Built in 1953, this attraction has been rebuilt again to provide a relaxing and bountiful fishing spot for those who want to take home an abundant catch.

Surfside Pier updates its guests with "fishing trends"--a plethora of information regarding what to expect in different types of weather and seasons as well as what fish are most plentiful at certain times. Surfside Pier houses a tackle shop, the Pier Outfitters, where you can get all the necessary gear for your fishing adventure. Surfside Pier also provides patrons with assistance from its staff of skilled fishermen.
