Overgaard, AZ Campgrounds
Officially titled Heber-Overgaard, this small city is set in the middle of the Sitgreaves National Forest, which is a part of a large network of national forests in central Arizona. Sitgreaves National Forest is home to many hiking trails and lakes, attracting outdoor enthusiasts. Campgrounds in Overgaard provide accommodations for both tent and RV campers that are either visiting the forest or simply passing through.

Gentry Campground

Just southeast of Overgaard, near Black Canyon Lake, lies Gentry Campground. Host to only six campsites, Gentry Campground can accommodate tents and small camping trailers up to 16 feet long. Campers have access to public toilets, fire grills and picnic tables.



The campground is consistently open from May until November and during the rest of the year as weather permits. Anglers can head off site to Black Canyon Lake to catch trout, bass and sunfish.

Black Canyon Rim Campground

Black Canyon Rim Campground is positioned 3 miles from Black Canyon Lake, a popular destination for tourists visiting Sitgreaves National Forest. Surrounded by forest, the campground provides sites for tent campers as well as small RVs. Amenities include drinking water, public restrooms, dump facilities and campfire grills. Black Canyon Lake is a common destination for fishing and boating during the summer months.

Elk Pines RV Resort

RV campers with large vehicles will find accommodations at Elk Pine RV Resort. Each of the 68 campsites is equipped with full hookups and guests have access to free wireless Internet as well as restrooms, showers and laundry facilities.



The nearby White Mountains offer a vast network of hiking and mountain biking trails. The hiking trails around the campground range in difficulty from easy to strenuous, providing challenging routes for all hikers.
