Sallisaw is in Sequoyah County in the central eastern part of Oklahoma. Situated within the Green Country region of the state, the area is filled with rolling green hills. Visitors can enjoy numerous recreation opportunities such as hiking, wildlife viewing or boating and fishing on lakes such as the 358-acre Brushy Lake. Numerous RV campgrounds in the city and the surrounding area provide campers easy access to outdoor recreation. Nearby attractions include the Sallisaw State Recreation Area and the Cookson Hills State Game Refuge.

Sallisaw/Fort Smith West KOA

Sallisaw/Fort Smith West KOA offers campsites for tents, RVs and camping cabins. Campsites are shady and grassy with amenities like full hookups, 30/50-amp service, wireless Internet connection, cable TV and picnic areas. Pull-through sites are also available with a maximum length of 75 feet. The park also features a grassy dog park, swimming pool, catch and release fishing pond, a playground, basketball court, horseshoes and tether ball. In addition to fishing and swimming, campers can also stroll along the nature trails and view wildlife. The park is home to a variety of species like ducks and other bird species.

Marval Family Camping Resort

The Marval Family Camping Resort is situated along the lower Illinois River and features 1/2 mile of river frontage. Located in Gore, Marval Family Camping Resort is about 25 minutes away from Sallisaw. Camping accommodations include 115 RV sites, 13 tent sites, 54 cabins and three lodge units. RV sites have full hookups with 30/50-amp service, wireless Internet service, picnic tables and fire rings. Guests can enjoy resort amenities such as a swimming pool, mini golf, splash pad, nature trails and a pond for children. The 105-acre resort also includes nature trails as well as volleyball, basketball and soccer facilities.

Brushy Lake State Park

Brushy Lake State Park offers visitors secluded campsites. Recreation opportunities within the park include fishing, boating and wildlife viewing. RV sites are equipped with water and electric hookups with 30/50-amp service. Other amenities include picnic tables, BBQ grills, playgrounds, a boat ramp and fishing docks. Bathroom and shower facilities are also available. Visitors can boat or fish on Brushy Lake, lounge by the water or stroll along the lake's four miles of shoreline.
