Campgrounds in Carmel, California Area

Carmel is a beach vacation destination in California's central coast. Visitors can enjoy swimming and lounging by the shore. The area is picturesque with its rugged coastline and sandy beaches. Rocky beaches are also in Carmel where campers can view numerous wildlife species. Attractions include Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach and Carmel River.

Saddle Mountain RV Park

Saddle Mountain RV Park overlooks the scenic Carmel Valley and offers tent and RV sites. Park amenities include a swimming pool, large deck, lounge area, hot showers, cable TV, barbecue grills and wireless Internet connection. RV sites have full hookups with 30-amp electric service. Campers can enjoy hiking trails within the park or venture out into one of the many local attractions nearby. Pebble Beach is 10 miles away where you can lounge, swim and view wildlife like seals, birds and sea lions surrounding the off-shore rocks.

Laguna Seca Recreation Area

Laguna Seca Recreation Area is within half an hour away from Carmel and offers visitors a serene view of the Salinas Valley. The park has RV and tent sites with water and electricity hookups. Campsites with no hookups also are available. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit. Park amenities include bathrooms, hot showers, a group building with a kitchen and playgrounds. The park features mountain biking access along the Fort Ord Public Lands. Visit the 4,756-acre Toro County Park, just eight miles away. Hikers can explore the park's 20 miles of hiking trials or enjoy viewing wildlife like coyote, deer, mountain lion and golden eagle.

Carmel by the River RV Park

This RV park, as the name suggests, is situated right along the Carmel River. The park offers RV sites with full hookups, 30/50-amp service, cable TV and wireless Internet connection. The campground also is equipped with bathrooms, hot showers, a club room and a recreation room. Activities within the park include walking the nature trails along the river or fishing for trout and steelhead. For more activities, visit the Carmel Beach just five miles away for more water recreation or the Monterey Bay Aquarium nine miles away for some sightseeing.
