Wales West RV Resort and Light Railway
Wales West RV Resort and Light Railway has its own railroad--a replica of Welsh railways--which takes short excursions in the area. There are also model trains, smaller gauges of rail, a railway museum and railway type buildings to explore as well as an 1860s era Welsh Village.
Next door is the campground which has 40 sites and all of them have full hookups with 50-amp service available. One section is for the largest of rigs with pull-through sites and cable TV. All sites have free Wi-Fi, landscaping, fire pit and picnic table.
This campground has an indoor swimming pool, community rooms and kitchens, family bath houses, exercise room, laundry, playground, a small lake for swimming and fishing, a one-mile nature trail, and a Promenade which is a 400-foot, 30-foot wide paved area for special events.
There are planned events throughout the year, both at the RV park and the train area.

Meaher State Park
Meaher State Park is part of the state park and is close to Mobile. The park is in the wetlands at the north end of Mobile Bay, and helps to preserve this coastal ecosystem. The campground has pull-through sites and the sites are large enough to have space between campers. Some campsites are as close as 100 feet from the water. Tents may be used at any site.
The park has 1,327 acres, and the part that is not a campground is a day-use area on the coast. There is a boat ramp and a fishing pier as well as a wooden boardwalk around some of the wetlands. The day use area is a picnic area with tables and grills and has restrooms.
The campground has 56 sites with full hookups as well as 50-amp connections. There is a bathhouse that was new in 2009 and a laundry facility.
