Douglas Dam Tailwater Campground
Located on the shores of Douglas Dam, Tailwater Campground is a Tennessee Valley Authority-administered recreation area. The campground has 62 joint tent-and-RV sites. The campground is equipped with a bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets, playground, picnic tables, charcoal grills and a bait and tackle shop. For on-site activities, Tailwater has its own boat ramp onto Douglas Lake, a fishing pier and a dedicated wildlife-watching area.

Clabough Campground
Clabough Campground is primarily an RV resort, but it does have a shady row of 10 tent-only campsites situated along a creek that runs along the southern border of the property. All campsites come with an individual picnic table. Amenities at the campground include four bathhouses, coin laundries, a game room, two outdoor swimming pools, free Wi-Fi access, a camp store and a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For outdoor activities, the campground is only two miles from the resort town of Pigeon Forge, which is the starting point for a range of adventure tours such as whitewater rafting.

Elkmont Campground
For those who prefer to pitch their tents inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but remain within a convenient drive of Sevierville, the park's Elkmont Campground is roughly 12 miles away. Elkmont is located down Little River Road, less than three miles from the park's Sugarlands Visitor Center. The campground has 220 joint tent-and-RV sites situated along the banks of the Little River and its tributary, Jakes Creek. Each campsite has its own fire grate and picnic table, and the campground as a whole is serviced by restrooms with running water and flush toilets, but not showers. For on-site outdoor activities, the campground has its own footpath to the Elkmont Nature Trail, and is adjacent to the trailheads for the Little River and Jakes Creek trails.
