Scranton is an old coal mining industrial city in northeastern Pennsylvania, but there are still outdoor recreational adventures to pursue. The Endless Mountain area of the Poconos is nearby, with hills covered with thick forests along with lakes and streams. Trails cut through the hills and are used for hiking and bicycling in summer and for snowmobiling and skiing in winter. Campsites also dot the landscape around the parks and lakes in the area.

Clayton Park Recreational Area

This campground has 100 sites, nearly all of them pull-throughs. All of the sites have full hookups and 50-amp electric service. Daily, weekly and seasonal sites are available. Model park cabins and RVs are offered for lodging, and there is a tent camping area. Wi-Fi Internet service is provided. The park has a bathhouse, showers, a laundry, as well as a store for camping and RV supplies, food items and propane.
