Antonito, Colorado, is an outdoor lover's paradise throughout the year. Mogote Meadow Cabins and RV Park, five miles west of town, is open for campers from May through mid-November. The campground offers RV sites with full hookups including 30- and 50-amp electric service. Guests can enjoy a pancake breakfast during summer and potluck dinners once a week. Showers, restrooms and laundry facilities make life easy. Pets are welcome for a fee. The park has space for tents, too.

Conejos River Campground and RV Park

Conejos River Campground and RV Park is surrounded by the great outdoors; the Conejos River runs along the back of the property and the Rio Grande National Forest provides a gorgeous backdrop. The park has dozens of sites to fit big rigs, with full hookups 20-, 30- and 50-amp electric service. On-site activities include horseshoes, miniature golf, and social events. Campers have access to free Wi-Fi Internet connections. Pets are welcome. And campers who can't get enough of the park can ask about buying a lot.

Canon Bonito RV and Fisherman Club is a very small facility, with only 14 sites, yet it packs a punch for campers who want to enjoy the quiet solitude of fishing on the property's private stretch of the Conejos River. Campers can stay for a day, a week or a month, and special rates are available for folks who want to get on the river with a fishing guide.

Twin Rivers Cabins and RV Park

Twin Rivers Cabins and RV Park offers a selection of pull-through and back-in sites for RVs, and they're spacious enough to accommodate slideouts and big rigs. The park is open from April through November and offers a playground for youngsters and a playing field for organized sports and activities. For a unique experience, spend a night in the covered wagon and teepee. Pets are welcome on a leash.
