A paradise for fresh and saltwater anglers, Thorne Bay on southeastern Alaska's Prince of Wales Island provides habitat for large populations of lingcod, rockfish, salmon, crab and steelhead. You can reel in halibut with an average weight of 40 lbs. Access isolated Thorne Bay by floatplane.

Alaska's Boardwalk Lodge

Alaska's Boardwalk Lodge offers rustic suites and executive suites. Executive suites are equipped with kitchenettes and dining rooms. The lodge also provides gourmet cuisine and culinary staff for meals, including a daily hors d'oeuvres reception. Fishing options include fresh and saltwater tours as well as fly-fishing trips. Saltwater fishing tours take place aboard 28-foot cruisers. Excursions include wildlife and nature viewing hikes, cave tours and visits to the Anan Creek Bear Observatory.

Alaskan Escape

Alaskan Escape offers individually designed waterside cabins for up to nine guests. Features of note include a full kitchen, loft, library, fishing rods and reels for use free of charge, a crab pot, smoker, deck and boat landing. Each cabin has its own 16-foot skiff. Alaskan Escape offers anglers self-guided tours.

Adventure Alaska Southeast

Adventure Alaska Southeast offers simple, comfortable cottages with kitchen, living room and covered front porch. The lodge also offers wi-fi, a pool table, unlimited long distance telephone calls, tackle shop and a fish cleaning and packaging room. Recreational equipment includes four-door trucks and 16-foot motorboats with GPS, down riggers and depth sounders. Fishing tours include day charters, self and fully guided tours. Fishing rods for fresh or salt water can be borrowed free of charge.
