South Texas RV Parks

South Texas offers a vast area to explore. The Hill Country makes up the top part of south Texas, with rivers like the Guadalupe for canoeing and rafting. There are historic cities like San Antonio, and there is the coast with miles of sandy beaches and fishing areas. Tourism is big in south Texas and a lot of people go there for the mild winter.

Rio Raft and Resort

Rio Raft and Resort combines the best of camping and rafting along the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, Texas. The campground rents rafts, canoes, kayaks and just about any kind of floating device you might imagine. You may take a six-hour group trip down the river, or make your own trip. Shuttles for put-ins and takeouts come with the rentals. Canyon Lake is nearby, and fishing is popular.



The campground has more than a quarter of a mile of river frontage. RV sites are available on the river, as are some tent sites. There are sites nearby as well that you can canoe to. There are more than 200 RV sites; all have water and electricity and most have sewer. Cabins are also available. The campground has showers, bathrooms, laundry facilities

KOA San Antonio

This KOA campground is in the city of San Antonio, but is on a creek and in the middle of 40 acres of pecan trees. The park is just five minutes from downtown, the River Walk and the historic district including the Alamo. The campground is a great base for seeing the city. There are walking, running and biking trails throughout San Antonio. Tours of the city depart from the campground.



The campground itself has more than 100 RV sites with full hookups. There are tent sites, as well as one- and two-room cabins and camping lodges for small groups. Cable TV is available with a charge, and WiFi is free.



This campground has bathrooms, showers and laundry. It has a public use room, snack bar and outdoor barbeque. The swimming pool is open all year.

Port Isabel Park

Port Isabel Park is about as far south as you can go in Texas. The park is on the coast but behind South Padre Island. It is near Brownsville and not far from the Mexican border. Saltwater fish can be caught from the dock, and you may put in your boat there as well.



This campground has about 200 sites with full hookups. Cable TV and WiFi are free. Showers, restrooms and laundromat are available, as are a dump station and a car wash.



The campground has a recreation room and planned activities such as crafts, line dancing, bingo and potluck dinners.
