Fishing Vessel Lucille
The Fishing Vessel Lucille operates out of Dutch Harbor, and the crew offers guided halibut fishing from the docks. Charters include the use of rain gear and boots should yours not be up to the challenge of the Aleutian Island weather. The crew assists with gaffing the fish when on the side of the boat, bringing the fish aboard and cleaning. Filet service and smoking or shipping is arranged back at the docks in Dutch Harbor. Plan on seeing sea lions and puffins during your charter.

Dock Fishing
Dutch Harbor is a main seaport for the fishing industry, and as a result, has many docks, piers and harbor moorings. While not ideal, it is possible to fish for smaller halibut right from these structures, within the town limits. The Alaska Ship Supply Clothing Store, in Dutch Harbor, carries a full range of halibut fishing gear, rods, baits and tackle. In addition, the staff are happy to provide you with tips and insight for dock halibut fishing in the area. Alaska sport fishing licenses are available at the store as well.
