Hocking Hills State Park
The closest campground to Old Man's Cave is within Hocking Hills State Park itself. Old Man's Cave is just one of the prominent features carved out of the park's sandstone, with others including the Cantwell Cliffs and Ash Cave. The main campground is primarily intended for RVs, with its paved pads and hookups, but the park also maintains a 30-site walk-in campground for tents only. This tent camping area is serviced only by pit toilets, but is adjacent to the main campground, so walk-in tent campers have access to the hot showers and coin laundry located there. The state park has a camp store, archery range, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, swimming pool and playground. For outdoor activities, campers may use the park's nine hiking trails, ranging between 1/4 mile and six miles, fish in Rose Lake and/or ride its two mountain bike routes.

Logan/Hocking Hills KOA
This branch of the national KOA chain is situated about five miles north of Hocking Hills State Park and Old Man's Cave. KOAs are RV-oriented campgrounds, but the Hocking Hills KOA has a tents-only camping area situated on the shady east side of the property, adjacent to its one-mile nature trail loop. Four of the tent sites have electrical hookups, but most of the tent sites are primitive. The KOA's amenities include a gem-mining activity site, swimming pool, playground, coin laundry, showers and Wi-Fi Internet. For outdoor activities, the KOA is equidistant between Hocking Hills State Forest, Hocking Hills State Park, and Lake Logan State Park, giving it access to plenty of hiking, mountain biking, climbing and fishing.

Happy Hills Campground and Cabins
Happy Hills Campground and Cabins is about 15 miles east of Old Man's Cave. The campground has shady tent-oriented primitive campsites with no hookups, each equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring. For amenities, Happy Hills has a kickball field, volleyball field, horseshoe pits, skate park, playground, swimming pool, bathhouse, coin laundry and camp store. The campground also has a fishing pond with bumper boat rentals on the property. In addition to Hocking Hills State Park, Happy Hills is adjacent to Wayne National Forest with its hiking and biking trails, fishing and canoeing.
