Springville, Utah is on Interstate 15 just below Provo and between Utah Lake and the Uinta National Forest. Water activities abound on the lake and there are many outdoor activities in the national forest. Trails go through the mountains of the national forests, and there are scenic drives as well, though you may be on a dirt road. This area is a good place to experience all the natural world that is Utah.

Balsam Campground

Balsam Campground is one of three small campgrounds on the road leading from Springville into the Uinta National Forest. The others are Kolob and Sulphur campgrounds operated by the National Forest Service and they are very similar. The three sites are within five miles of each other.

Balsam has 24 campsites and two group sites, one for 30 people and one for up to 100 people. There are no hookups, but you can park your RV there, as well as camp in a tent. Water is available.

Fishing and swimming are available in Hobble Creek, which goes by the campground. There are numerous trails in the area, including a spur of the Great Western Trail. Trails are for hiking or horseback riding, no ATVs are allowed.

Reservations can be made, or you may get a first-come, first-served site.
