Fishing in Alaska entails heading out onto the deep and icy waters for king and silver salmon, or dropping a line far into the black depths for the bottom-dwelling halibut. For many, trying to fish as many water sources as possible is difficult without the assistance of guide or charter services. Many lodges, and guides offer combination trips for fishing, as well as other activities in the Great Land.

Skagway Fishing Charters departs out of Skagway Harbor and heads into the deep, icy waters of the Taiya Inlet, one of the deeper fjords in North America. Skagway Fishing Charters offers custom combination charters where fishing for halibut and salmon is done during the trip. All fishing gear, tackle, bait, guides, captain and boat, use of rain gear and iced coolers for fish storage is included in charter fees. Smoking, filleting, shipping and other fishing processing is done at the harbor docks. Charter trips last 8 to 10 hours.

Crackerjack Sportfishing Charters

Crackerjack Sportfishing Charters offers combination fishing trips into Resurrection Bay and the waters beyond Fox Island. During the day, fish for salmon and halibut on the same trip. Charters are approximately 10 hours and all needed gear, tackle, bait and iced coolers for the catch are provided for use. You should provide your own foul weather gear. Guides assist with tackle choice and gaffing halibut or netting salmon when close to the boat. Basic fish cleaning and icing is provided, but filleting, smoking and shipping are your responsibility and are arranged at the docks in Seward upon arrival back.

Kingfisher Charters and Lodge offers combination charter and vacation packages at their lodge location in Sitka, Alaska.
