Stayton, Oregon is a logical stop for RV campers looking to explore the splendid forests of central Oregon. The town is just 10 miles down the road from Salem and I-5, making it a convenient and largely rural midway point between the interstate and Santiam State Forest, and beyond that the vaster wilderness of a national forest. With their hiking, fishing, mushroom picking and other activities, these forests are in some cases within biking distance of Stayton area RV parks.

Silver Falls State Park

Silver Falls State Park is northeast of Stayton and roughly 10 miles away by road. The park has a mixed tent and RV campground organized into two loops. Loop A is made up entirely of 42 RV campsites, while Loop B has 10 RV sites concentrated on its north end. Loop A comes equipped with a central playground and the campgrounds only shower house, although Loop B does have a restroom with flush toilets and sits alongside South Fork Silver Creek. All RV sites have electrical hook-ups. The park has 10 scenic waterfalls, such as the 136-foot North Falls, accessible on both hiking and biking trails. Two of these hiking trails run straight from the campground itself, and the park also has fishing in the forks of the Silver Creek.
