RV Campgrounds in Nachez, Mississippi

Several RV parks and campgrounds are located within a few miles of Natchez, Mississippi, which draws people because of its antebellum history and location along the Mississippi River. The campgrounds offer quick access to local attractions and the river and form a base from which you can explore the southern end of the Natchez Trace Parkway, a 450-mile designated bike route that starts in the middle of town and ends in Nashville, Tennessee.

Plantation Park

Plantation Park is located in Natchez and offers daily, weekly and monthly site rentals that have either 30 or 50-amp connections, cable and concrete porches. Onsite amenities include a swimming pool, bath houses, a camp store and shade trees. The park features paved roads for easy entrance and exit, and it is less than a mile from a Chinese restaurant and a southern home-style restaurant. A couple of miles north are the shops downtown and the Natchez National Historical Park.

Natchez State Park

Natchez State Park is situated 10 miles to the north of town and offers hunting, fishing, hiking and boating. The biggest bass in the state--a little over 18 pounds-- was caught in the park. A hot air balloon festival takes place in the park each year in the fall, and the Natchez Trace Parkway biking trail passes a mile to the north.

Park features include showers, picnic areas, grills, laundry facilities and a playground for the little ones. The 50 RV sites include electric and water hookups, but only a handful of sites have sewer hookups. Tent sites and cabins are available.

River View RV Park & Resort

River View RV Park & Resort offers 193 paved RV sites along the Mississippi River on the Louisiana side, opposite Natchez. All sites are equipped with full hookups and cable. Onsite amenities include a laundry room, showers, free Wi-Fi and a camp store. The park offers swimming in the outdoor pool, games in the clubhouse, a playground for the kids as well as a river walk for those who want to watch the boats go by. A casino is just across the river and restaurants are a short drive away on Highway 425. A mile away it the Vidalia River Walk, which offers more restaurants, shops and a public boat ramp.
