Mohave County in northwest Arizona, with a population of a bit more than 16,000 in Bullhead City, Kingman and their environs, provides RV parks sited within a three-hour drive of the Grand Canyon and Death Valley National Park. Rock climbers can enjoy the canyon and its bouldering opportunities, while rafting awaits in the Colorado River.

Kingman KOA

Kingman KOA has sites for small, mid-size and large RVs, including those with slide-outs or pull-through needs. Site hookups include the traditional water and sewer, along with 30- or 50-amp electric, cable TV and free wifi. KOA offers members of its proprietary Klub Kard travel club discounted stays. You may bring your pet but are asked to keep it leashed. A playground and swimming pool, as well as laundry and a guest room, are on site. Rock climbers have plenty of routes in Grand Canyon National Park, as well as in the community of Hesperia in California, two hours drive to the west.

Blake Ranch RV Resort

Blake Ranch RV Resort has opportunities for hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders. The resort bills itself as a "horse motel" and has boarding areas for horses, as well as trails for riding. Water sports enthusiasts have ample opportunities to ply their sports on the Colorado River with options for canoeing, kayaking and inner tubing. The glamor of the Las Vegas strip is within a two-hour drive, and Grand Canyon National Park is three hours southeast. RV sites have full hookups with water, sewer, cable TV and 30- or 50-amp electric. Summer temperatures are extremely high and the sun is relentless, so if your rig has an awning, set it up for needed shade relief. Pets are allowed, with dog runs provided.
