Bass Lake is a great jumping off point for exploring Yosemite, fishing the local rivers or just staying put and having a blast on Bass Lake itself. There are many options for camping, but those recreationalists looking for a privately owned campground with all the amenities only have a few options. The few options offer all the comforts of home, allowing you to unwind and focus on a fun adventure.

Oakhurst Camping Option

Located eight miles from Bass Lake, High Sierra RV and Mobile Park sits at the gateway to adventure with the Fresno River, Bass Lake and Yosemite at your fingertips. Here you'll find oak and pine trees surrounding sites ranging from fully equipped RV spots to riverfront tent campsites. There are large shade trees, but if you're planning to enjoy your satellite television, pick a more user-friendly site for those applications. High Sierra RV and Mobile Park offers all the amenities you'd expect to find in a quality RV park, but there's also swimming, available Wi-Fi, a gift and snack shop with camping and RV supplies, and even a pet-friendly park. For the RV crowd, on-site propane, dump station and helpful staff make refilling and offloading much easier. As a bonus to all campers, the resort lies in an area with good cell phone coverage. It offers daily, weekly and monthly rates.

Another option for a private campground is Bass Lake Recreation Resort. Situated next to the lake and near the south entrance to Yosemite, the resort is a membership park offering its members all the amenities you'd expect and more. From basic electrical hookups, tent sites, Internet access, laundry facilities, playground for the little ones, showers, and swimming pool, to rental cabins, recreation room, a calendar full of events, restaurant and a plethora of outdoor recreational activities, members have it good.

Option In Coarsegold

Another option for a privately owned campground is the old standby, the Coarsegold KOA. Located only about 15 miles from Bass Lake, this quaint KOA offers 30 acres of rolling hills and a tranquil environment. With cabins, RV sites and tent sites, this is a great option in the summer. One unique option here is the family movies shown at an outdoor theater. The family will also enjoy the fire pit for smores, a swimming pool and the short 23-mile drive to Yosemite National Park.As for services at the KOA, campers will find LP gas, wireless Internet, laundry facilities as well as a store and gift shop. The kids can also play ping pong, Foosball, air hockey, pool, basketball and shuffle board.
