For RV campers exploring Alberta, Grimshaw offers a central base for the outdoor attractions of the west-central region of that vast province. The town is located at the junction of Highways 2 and 35, and the junction between Highways 35 and 986 is less than 15 miles away. Using these routes, a Grimshaw area-based RV camper can see any or all of the rivers, lakes and forests in the area.

The Creek Golf Course and Campground

For RV campers who are also golfers, the Creek Golf Course and Campground is the logical choice. Set in Grimshaw, the campground is flanked by Lac Cardinal a few miles to the east, and the Peace River a few miles to the west.

In addition to the par-36 9-hole golf course, the campground has immediate access to fishing, boating, hiking and nature watching. The campground offers big campsites framed by trees and has fire pits, picnic tables and electrical and water hookups. The campground features a shower house, dump station, horseshoe pits and volleyball courts. Campers also enjoy access to the bar and grill at the golf course clubhouse.

The campground has 20 sites with fire pits and electrical hookups and is able to accommodate rigs up to 50 feet long. The campground has water spigots, restrooms, picnic shelters with grills, a dump station and firewood.

Lions Club Campground

The neighboring town of Peace River has a Lions Club-operated campground, about 16 miles east of Grimshaw. The town is set on the namesake river and is adjacent to both the Peace River Wildland and Greene Valley Provincial Park, both settings for boating, fishing, nature watching and both on- and off-trail hiking.

The campground has campsites with water and electrical hookups and features a playground and coin laundry.
