Big Pocono State Park
Big Pocono State Park encompasses 1,306 acres in the central Pocono Mountains. It features the rugged terrain of Camelback Mountain and surrounding area, with many recreational opportunities. Hiking trails with varying difficulty run throughout the park for a total of more than eight miles. A paved road open to bikes, horses and cars runs through the park and makes a loop on top of Camelback Mountain, offering views of the surrounding Pocono Mountains. Camelback Ski Area, on the north slope of the mountain, has 33 downhill ski trails. It also offers the Cameltop Restaurant, which is open seasonally and serves American cuisine. Local lodging options include Days Inn and the Great Wolf Lodge within two miles of the park.

Pocono Whitewater
Pocono Whitewater is a Pocono Mountains outdoor adventure tour company based out of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. It offers whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River, which has class IV, and V rapids on days water is released from an upriver dam. It also offers family rafting on the days no water is released, and the water is slow-moving and has no major obstacles. Pocono Whitewater also offers several bike tours on a retired railroad grade that slopes gently downhill through scenic views of the area's natural forests. Pocono Whitewater operates a 700-acre paintball facility where guests can play on 50 rugged terrain fields. Local lodging options include the Hampton Inn and Country Inn & Suites within five miles of the tour facility.

Tobyhanna State Park
Tobyhanna State Park is located two miles south of downtown Tobyhanna and encompasses 5,440 acres. There are many recreational activities in the park, including fishing in Tobyhanna Lake and Gouldsboro Lake. A boat launch and rental facility is located on each lake, along with docking space. The park has more than nine miles of hiking trails that traverse the rugged rocky terrain and run through native forest and around the two lakes. Tobyhanna State Park has areas open to hunting for waterfowl and deer. Lodging options include an on-site campground with 140 rustic campsites that include a picnic table and fire ring, along with the Sterling Inn located just four miles away.
