Southern Ohio Camping Sites
Southern Ohio is an ideal camping destination due to its natural landscape of peaceful forested land and many natural landmarks including caves, waterfalls and rock formations. Visitors will find several campgrounds in the area, which offer convenient access to hiking in Hocking Hills State park and Pike Lake State Park.

Long's Retreat

Long's Retreat is a 400-acre campground on Latham in Southern Ohio. It offers a variety of sites, including lakefront or wooded, and includes a full hookup, partial hookup or electric only. All sites include a fire ring, picnic table and gravel patio on select sites. Facility amenities include a camp store, laundromat and two concession stands, as well as modern restrooms and private showers. The 20-acre private lake features a large sandy beachfront, two water slides and a toddler play area with fountains. Other amenities include miniature golf, fishing and go-karts as well as a rock climbing wall and trampoline. There is a large wooded area adjacent to the campground for guests to explore with several hiking and biking trails.

Pike Lake State Park

Pike Lake State Park is in the southern Ohio city of Bainbridge. It offers 80 campsites that include electric, a fire ring and picnic table in a wooded setting. The park also has 24 fully furnished rental cabins that include a fully-equipped kitchen and all linens. Facility amenities include a dump station, latrines and private showers nearby at the beach house. A concession store is on-site which rents paddleboats, canoes and sells snacks. Recreational amenities include a sandy beach area, fishing for bass and bluegill in the lake and several private picnic pavilions. The park has more than six miles of hiking trails as well as several horse trails.

Logan KOA

Logan KOA is in the Hocking Hills area of southern Ohio. It offers full hook-up RV sites and electric only tent sites, which all include a fire ring and picnic table. RV sites are available with a wood deck or rock patio on select sites. Several rental cabins are available that include a fully equipped kitchen, deck and picnic table. Facility amenities include a banquet room, gem mining and large outdoor pool as well as modern restrooms and private showers. Recreational amenities include a playground, game room and daily planned activities. Hocking Hills State Park is less then 5 miles of the campground and offers more than 25 miles of hiking trails with views of waterfalls and rock formations.
