Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park
Situated about 15 miles north of Memphis, Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park's 13,467 acres enclose lakes, a stretch of Mississippi Riverfront, and a dense forest of cypress, oak and tupelo. The park's campground consists of 49 campsites, served by a bathhouse with hot showers. Every campsite has its own picnic table, charcoal grill and set of electrical and water hook-ups. Near the middle of the park, the campground is within walking distance of Piersol Lake and has good access to the Chickasaw Bluff and Woodland Trail hiking paths.

T.O. Fuller State Park
Set on the banks of the Mississippi, T.O. Fuller State Park is about two miles south of Riverside Park and I-55 on the south end of Memphis, and about five miles from the downtown area. The campground has 45 sites meant for both tent and RV campers, some of them large enough to accommodate 85-foot rigs. Each campsite has its own picnic table, lantern post, fire ring, charcoal grill and hook-ups for water and electricity. The campground as a whole is serviced by a bathhouse with coin laundry, playground and picnic shelter. The Discovery Trail, a hiking path that loops the entire park, runs through the middle of the campground.

Graceland RV Park and Campground
While not a very outdoors-oriented setting, the Graceland RV Park and Campground is within walking distance of Elvis Presley's home of Graceland, and less than a mile from the interchange of I-240 and I-55. The 19-acre campground is primarily an RV park, but it does have a grassy tent camping area with some shade trees. The campground is serviced by sporting courts, an outdoor swimming pool, free Wi-Fi service, camp store and a central bathhouse with coin laundry.
