Smoky Mountains Campgrounds

The Smoky Mountains are a popular camping destination due to the mild summer temperatures and scenic landscape. Visitors will find many camping options including RV, tent and camping cabins in and around the area. Popular attractions include hiking in the Great Smoky National Park, trout fishing in the small mountain streams and whitewater rafting on the Big Pigeon River.

Deep Creek Campground

Deep Creek Campground is located on Deep Creek a half-mile from the Great Smoky National Park in Bryson City, North Carolina. It offers full hookup RV and rustic tent sites that include a fire pit and picnic table. Deep Creek Campground also has several rental log cabins available. Facility amenities include a coin-operated guest laundry, camp store and picnic pavilion along with a petting zoo and modern restroom with private showers. Recreational amenities include on-site tube rental, playground and horseshoe pit. The campground has many hiking trails that run into the National Park and lead to waterfalls and views of the surrounding mountains.

Ela Campground

Ela Campground is located on the Tuckasegee River midway between Bryson City and Cherokee, North Carolina. It offers full hookup campsites that include wireless Internet access, a picnic table and fire pit along with river access on select sites. Facility amenities include a picnic pavilion with charcoal grills, two modern bathhouses with private showers and coin-operated guest laundry as well as an activity room and dump station. Recreational amenities include a playground, swimming pool and three river access areas for trout fishing and tubing. The campground has an on-site country store that sells souvenirs, groceries and fishing supplies. The store also has a restaurant that serves all meals.

Alpine Hideaway Campground

Alpine Hideaway Campground is located a mile south of Pigeon Forge in the Smoky Mountains. It offers full hookup RV sites and rustic tent sites, which include a picnic table and fire ring. Rental cabins are also available that include a bathroom and kitchenette. Facility amenities include two modern restrooms with private showers, a picnic pavilion and a playground. Hiking trails are accessible from the campground and give visitors access to the surrounding mountain valleys.
