The village of Lake George is located at the south end of Lake George in central New York's Adirondacks region. It is a popular vacation destination due to its many shops, restaurants and water activities, and you'll also find many campgrounds in the area where you can experience the area's serene wooded landscape.

Adirondack Camping Village

The Adirondack Camping Village is located 2 miles northwest of the town of Lake George, New York. It offers full and partial hook-up RV and tent sites, as well as rustic tent sites in a serene wooded mountain setting. Amenities include a camp store, coin-operated guest laundry and a wireless Internet access area, along with modern restrooms and private showers. The Adirondack Camping Village also has many recreation options, including an outdoor heated pool, a wading pool and daily hayrides, as well as a game room, a playground and a basketball court. Hiking trails are accessible in the forested area surrounding the campground and feature undulating mountain terrain.

Hearthstone Point Campground

Hearthstone Point Campground is a New York State Forest Preserve located on Lake George. It provides wooded RV and tent sites, which include a fire ring and picnic table. Amenities include modern restrooms, private showers and a recycling center, as well as a picnic pavilion and an RV dump station. The campground has a beachfront area on Lake George where you can sunbathe and swim. Lake George has quality fishing for lake trout, salmon and bass. A hiking trail runs throughout the campground and forested area to the west of the campground.

River View Campground

The River View Campground is located 4 miles north of Lake George on the Schroon River. It provides full and partial hook-ups sites that include a picnic table and a fire ring, and that are riverfront or river view. Amenities include an arcade, a picnic pavilion and modern restrooms with private showers. Recreational amenities include a sandy beachfront swimming area, a playground and a miniature golf course, as well as basketball and volleyball courts. There are several fishing access points along the river where you can catch brown trout. The river is also ideal for canoeing and kayaking, thanks to a slow current. Hiking trails are located a 1/2 mile away in the Blister Hill Mountain Park, which features rolling wooded terrain.
