Lake Resorts in Springfield, Illinois

Springfield, the state capital of Illinois, is located in Sangamon County. Lake Springfield is in the greater Springfield region, providing opportunities for fishing, swimming, kayaking and canoeing. In the winter, visitors enjoy ice skating and cross-country skiing. There are no real resorts or hotels surrounding the lake itself, but several are under five to 10 miles of the lake.
