Built in 1910, the historic brick hotel is surrounded by white pines on the shores of Lake Muskoka. While retaining the original architectural details, the property features a contemporary South Beach style. All of the 34 guest rooms, including the two bedroom suite, are decorated with bright colors and cool linens. The accommodations include down pillows and duvets, complimentary wireless Internet access, flat-screen satellite television and deluxe toiletries. Tea and coffee is available in the lobby until 10 a.m. and guests are welcome to enjoy a free continental breakfast during the weekends. Ghost restaurant incorporates fresh local ingredients into an innovative menu. Guests are invited to admire the scenic view from the patio or take advantage of the lakeside hotel location to go boating, swimming or fishing.

Delta Sherwood Inn

The smoke-free upscale hotel features a restaurant, a private beach, spa services, a fitness facility and 49 guest rooms. Guests are welcome to lounge in front of the lobby fireplace or play a friendly game on the pool table. Business amenities include wireless Internet access, conference rooms and audio-visual equipment. Each of the guest rooms provides a coffee maker, cable television and deluxe toiletries. Outdoor enthusiasts may enjoy complimentary use of seasonal sports equipment, including kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, mountain bikes, table tennis with paddles, tennis and badminton racquets as well as snow shoes and cross-country skis. Roselawn Inn

Thomas Burgess, the founder of the town, built the Rose Lawn Lodge on the shores of the Moon River in 1903. Located in the heart of Bala, the property features scenic gardens and a small lake in front of the resort. The historic inn offers eight en suite guest rooms, including four rooms with south facing porches and water views. The smoke-free accommodations include daily housekeeping services, cable television and complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Guests are welcome to use canoes or paddle boats to explore the lake or go for a walk to visit nearby shops and restaurants. The inn is open May through October and a two night minimum stay is required. Discount rates for seniors and mid-week stays may be available.
