The Best Bed & Breakfasts in Vermont

The Best Bed & Breakfasts in Vermont
Rich in history, Vermont was the first state to join the union, and the first to abolish slavery. However, Vermont has much more to offer visitors than its rich history. You will find yourself in paradise, surrounded by its snowy mountains and ski resorts, natural lakes and streams filled with fish, and fields and forests green in summer and white in winter. When you need a place to kick back and relax, there are many first-class bed and breakfasts.

Phineas Swann Bed and Breakfast Inn

Located in the heart of historic Montgomery, the fully remodeled Phineas Swann is one of New England's best romantic bed and breakfasts, according to Boston Magazine. The Inn offers seven cozy room options among three separate houses. The Green, Red and Blue Rooms, located within the main inn, come with private bathrooms, plasma TVs with DVD players, Internet hookups, free Wi-Fi Internet and individually controlled air conditioning. The Honeymoon and Bulldog Suites, located in the Carriage House, come with the same amenities, but are much larger (the Bulldog Suite has two bedrooms and a living room). The First and Second Floor Suites, located in the River House, are each one-bedroom apartments that overlook the Trout River. Each has a full kitchen, private hot tub and fireplace (in addition to the standard amenities). All of the rooms at Phineas Swann contain ultra-soft four-poster beds. The main areas include a lush flower garden, river sitting area, living room, music room, den/library and dining room. There is also an outdoor hot tub. Rates include a deluxe breakfast. Additionally, all four Carriage and River House Suites are pet-friendly.

Nearby attractions include the Jay Peak Ski Resort, Northern Forest Canoe Trail, at least six golf courses and dozens of hiking and biking trails.
