While relatively small in size, the New England state of New Hampshire is packed with opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. Whether you are into mountain biking, hiking, nature trails, fishing, boating, rock climbing, kayaking or just relaxing at the spa, New Hampshire has something for everyone. However, if you're planning to fly to New Hampshire, only three major airports are within the state.

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport

By far the largest airport in New Hampshire, Manchester-Boston Regional is located in the heart of Manchester--just 50 miles north of Boston. A number of airlines service the airport, including Continental/Continental Express, Southwest Airlines, Air Canada, Delta/Delta Connection, United/United Express and US Airways/US Airways Express. A variety of food/drink venues are within the terminal, including The Granite Club, Milltowne Grille, Samuel Adams Pub and Cafe, Samuel Adams Manchester Meetinghouse, Smuttynose Public House, Great American Bagel Company, Dunkin' Donuts, Quiznos Subs, Starbucks and Pizza Hut, as well as a number of gift/news shops. Buses, taxis, limos and courtesy shuttles make stops right outside the airport, while car rental agencies can be found within the terminal. Nearby attractions include the McIntire Ski Area, Currier Museum of Art, Merchants Auto Stadium and Manchester Country Club.

Portsmouth International Airport at Pease

Centrally located about 50 miles from both Manchester and Boston, and within the Pease International Tradeport, Portsmouth International provides air service to New Hampshire's coastal region. As of 2010, there are no commercial passenger flights leaving the airport; However, it is open to private and corporate aircraft/jets and has a 24/7-operated air traffic control tower. The airport grounds include a large business park with more than 165 different businesses and a 27-hole golf course.

Lebanon Municipal Airport

Located in the scenic Upper Valley region of New Hampshire, Lebanon Municipal is the only airport in the area with an air traffic control tower. Unlike Portsmouth International, Lebanon International does offer limited commercial passenger flight service (four flights a day), through US Airways Express. The airport also provides hangar space for private and corporate planes. While there are no restaurants on site, there are a number of eateries within the surrounding area. Parking and Wi-Fi Internet access are provided free of charge.
