Dalian, China, is a seaside city, a part of Liaoning Province in northeastern China. Known for parks and gardens throughout the city, white sand beaches and a culinary palate filled with seafood and fresh fruits, Dalian is a city Chinese people and many foreign tourists from throughout Asia and Russia love to visit. A walk along the Yellow Sea or the Bohai Sea will introduce the adventurous traveler to multiple cuisines, including many Thai restaurants in the area.

Golden Thai Shark-Fin Restaurant

The Golden Thai Shark-Fin Restaurant is one of the best-known restaurants in Dalian. Famed for a variety of Thai seafood dishes, it also serves one of China's most elite dishes, shark-fin soup. The prig king shrimp is spicy and garlicky and the om kha khung is a refreshing coconut soup made with lemongrass, galanga, garlic, vegetables and shrimp. Prices are on the high side.

The not-so-original name doesn't mean the Thai Restaurant doesn't have original dishes. Known for having one of the most extensive menus in Dalian, Thai Restaurant offers more than 120 dishes to choose from. All the chefs are originally from Thailand and specialize in tom yum khung (a spicy shrimp soup), panang curry, (a yellow curry with your choice of meat) and a fragrant mango sticky rice. Prices are expensive as this is a popular tourist destination.

Thai Food Station

Thai Food Station is a national chain known to be affordable and fast. It's a step above Panda Express only in the sense that it has servers come to your table. If you want your basic phad Thai noodles, this is the place. Try the crispy garlic roasted chicken with lemongrass or pork laab with cabbage wrap. Prices are very reasonable and service is quick.
