Airports in Colorado

Colorado is one of the country's most expansive states for year-around outdoor activities. Its mountains, forests and grasslands offer hiking, climbing, fishing and much more from spring through autumn. When the snows fall, Colorado switches over to winter sports like skiing and snowshoeing. For those who do not live in the Centennial State, access to these natural wonders often comes through Colorado's network of international, regional and local airports.

Denver

Located northeast of Denver, Denver International (DEN) was declared "America's Best Run Airport" for its airport security by Time magazine in 2002. However, the airport was also the home of an infamous, failed automated baggage sorting and delivery system that was finally abandoned in 2005. The airport's architecture is designed to be reminiscent of the Colorado Rockies, with its white peaks mirroring that range's snow-capped mountains. DEN is a full-service airport, with a wide variety of shops and eateries, ranging from Taco Bell to Wolfgang Puck Express, and free Wi-Fi in the Jeppesen Terminal as well as Concourses A, B, and C. The airport is a major hub for Frontier Airlines and United Airlines, with 14 other domestic and international carriers also operating there.

Serviced by eateries ranging from A&W to Gordon Biersch, Wi-Fi Internet is available in the airport concourses. The airport has routes to cities across America carried by Allegiant, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Northwest and United.

The airport receives flights from Allegiant, American, Delta, United and U.S. Airways with connections to St. Lake City, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas and Denver. GJT is serviced by a restaurant located just outside the security screening area.
