If you are plan on staying in Texas in style, then the La Columbe d'Or is the place to go. It is not merely a quaint bed and breakfast nor is it a charming hotel. No, the La Columbe d'Or is a historic mansion. Built in 1923 to reflect the homes of the European nobility, the La Columbe has more elegant atmosphere than you can shake a stick at. There are villas, water-fountains and fine-dining rooms. There are even oak panels which where once used in the castles of the french royalty. Be warned, if you plan on traveling to the La Columbe d'Or, that luxury definitely does not come cheap.
