Air Berlin
This company is one of the three biggest discount airlines in the European Union. It offers the largest network of flights of any German airline. Within Germany, the company stops at major airports such as Munich and Dusseldorf, and partners with other airlines to offer flights to international destinations such as the U.S., Asia and Russia. Unlike many other low-cost European airline companies, Air Berlin typically offers limited amenities such as in-flight drinks.

TUI Fly
This airline has hundreds of flights to more than 70 destinations in Germany and abroad, including as far as Israel. Based in Hanover, the company cuts prices where possible, including by not issuing paper tickets and not offering connecting flights. However, it typically offers some of the best prices for those who don't mind some of the hassles connected with such a no-frills approach to travel.
