Eurail Pass
One of the easiest ways to travel to the rest of Europe from Italy is with a Eurail pass. Even the smallest towns in Italy have train stations, and they are an inexpensive and safe way to get from point A to point B. You can purchase a Eurail pass for however long you're going to be traveling and move among the 21 countries that Eurail services. The price of the Global pass averages between $480 and $1,500, depending on the length of time you'll be traveling. Simply order the pass online before you travel and allow a total of 3 days for processing the order.

Ryan Air
Ryan Air is a very inexpensive airline that allows you to globe-trot to other destinations around Europe and even Northern Africa inexpensively. You don't have to plan that far ahead either to fly Ryan Air because so many flights are available, especially to the areas that are a bit too far to access from Italy by train. For example, if you wanted to hop over to southern Spain quite rapidly, you could do so for a very cheap price. Flights can be as low as $25 to $50 in some instances.

Sailing Charters
A fabulous way to absorb the natural beauty of Italy as well as travel to another country is to charter a sail boat and sail to your next destination. You can sail throughout Italy and then make your way over to Greece. Head toward the Amalfi coast and then down to Sardinia. Explore the Mediterranean. There is much to see on your journey, and the best part about sailing is that it's wind powered and you don't have to use tons of gas along the way.
