El Calafate Hotels

El Calafate Hotels
El Calafate is a town situated in the south of Argentina along the Chile border. It is on the edge of the South American continent, which is pointed toward Antarctica. During the winter months the area is perfect for cross-country skiing and other winter sports, while the summer months provide beautiful colors and some great areas for nature walking.

Hosteria Austral

When coming into town, you either travel by bus or through the air into the local airport. The small Hosteria Austral is located near both the airport and bus station, so it may be one of the first hotels you see on your way into town. Although it only has 20 rooms, there are a few amenities provided, such as the wireless Internet in all rooms, and pets allowed to stay for free. There are also televisions and refrigerators situated in every room.

Kelta Hosteria

With 10 more rooms than the Hosteria Austral, Kelta Hosteria is a sleepy hotel with great views of the surrounding city and Largo Argentino. There is a restaurant and bar on site, and all rooms have access to television and large living spaces.

Cauquenes de Nimez

Cauquenes de Nimez is one of the smaller hotels in the area, with only 12 rooms. It is on the outskirts of town, but provides great views of the area and is near Lake Nimez. The hotel has a living room and dining room all guests can take advantage of. While in El Calafate you will probably want to spend most of your time outside of the hotel because there are essentially no amenities within the hotel, which includes no television.
