Punta Cana, the popular resort coast of the Dominican Republic, boasts warm waters and stretches of golden beach that attract millions of tourists annually. The numerous all-inclusive resorts that can be found along the area's crowded beaches are popular among families who don't want to worry about paying extra for food while on a vacation. Discover some of the Punta Cana resorts that let kids stay and eat for free so you can save even more money on your next Caribbean adventure.

Caribe Club Princess Punta Cana

The red roofs of this oceanfront resort form a sprawling landmark along the world-famous Higuey coast. Take a walk along miles of secluded white sand beach, then return to your room where you're greeted with your own balcony and standard hotel amenities such as a full minibar and a safe. The resort hosts seven restaurants, four bars and a snack bar that's open poolside all day. Up to two children ages 12 and under can stay for free in each room when accompanied by a paying adult.

The hotel's higher-end sister resort, Hotel Bavaro Princess, is found several miles from the Caribe Club and likewise offers free accommodations to children ages 12 and under. Over 600 rooms, including 82 junior suites perfect for small families, are available. The hotel also caters to children, featuring a children's pool, babysitting and specially-prepared meals for finicky eaters.

Club Med Punta Cana

Found on the windier Atlantic side of the Dominican Republic, this 75 acre resort underwent a $36 million renovation in 2008 and includes a new spa, oceanfront suites and new furnishings in all its rooms. The resort markets itself as family-friendly, featuring clubs for children up to the age of 17 with activities and tours aimed at their age. Children up to the age of 2 are free year-round, while the resort typically offers discounts or complimentary stays to older children throughout the year.

Dreams Punta Cana

This resort appeals to families who want to avoid Punta Cana's more crowded resort districts. Facing a stretch of beach sheltered by a massive coral reef, the resort's rooms include four poster beds, furnished private terraces, and high-tech amenities like Internet access, iPod-compatible stereo systems and satellite television. As of September 2009, kids are regularly just $65 a night. However, the resort holds annual sales during early summer and fall when the tourist season slows. During such sales, up to two children ages 12 and under can stay for free when sharing accommodations with at least one paying adult.
